Our Tactile pavers, also known as tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) or detectable warning surfaces, are specialized paving materials used in urban and architectural design to assist individuals with visual impairments in navigating public spaces safely. These pavers have a distinct texture and color contrast, providing tactile and visual cues to alert pedestrians to potential hazards and guide them along safe pathways. They come in two separate designs:
-
Warning Tactile Pavers: These pavers have a raised, truncated dome pattern and are primarily used to warn pedestrians about potential hazards, such as the edge of railway platforms, the approach to pedestrian crossings, or the top of stairs. They are also known as hazards or caution tactile pavers.
-
Directional Tactile Pavers: Directional pavers have elongated bars or grooves that guide pedestrians in a specific direction. They are commonly used at pedestrian crossings, on sidewalks, or at transit stations to provide directional cues for safe navigation.
